Who Are We?
The Oakville Sustainability Initiative is an innovative science based research initiative inspired by sustainability principles and leaders around the world. We are dedicated to advancing new sustainability research and ideas and applying them in practical ways within our local municipality, region, education systems, and businesses.
In 2006 and with the support of The Oakvillegreen Conversation Association and The Natural Step, an organization founded in 1989 in Sweden by Dr. Karl-Henrik Robèrt, we have laid the groundwork for Oakville's first sustainability initiative.
We welcome new members as friends, research partners, and colleagues from all over the world. As sustainability advocates, we are truly engaged in the biggest challenge of our time ---only by co-creating a meaningful, purposeful and learningful dialogue can we realize a vision of sustainability in the future. We are currently seeking individuals who would like to help out, drawing from government, business, academic and community circles.
